We loved seeing you on League Day! Please let us know how your visits went HERE.
Legislators need to hear from you regarding the bills we support/oppose that are still being considered–especially Redistricting and the ERA. These issues are supported by a wide margin of Virginians and our education and advocacy efforts are making a difference.
Redistricting: It is important that SJ306 (now being considered in the House) and HJ615 (now being considered in the Senate) contain language that creates a transparent process that protects voters from partisan or bipartisan gerrymandering. Ask your legislator to include this language in the amendment: No electoral district shall be drawn with the intent of favoring or disfavoring any political party, incumbent legislator or member of Congress, or individual.
ERA Ratification: Support SJ284. Don’t assume your legislators know YOU support the ERA. Letting your lawmakers know, even if they support the amendment, tells them what is important to you and encourages them to stand up strongly for your values despite some opposition. This is also important even if your lawmaker does not agree with you–he/she is there to represent you–so make sure your voice is heard. Tell your lawmaker your story and why you want the ERA ratified. Let your lawmaker know if there was a resolution passed supporting the ERA in his/her district; a list can be found here. It’s time to make one more push to get this amendment passed this year.
Justification: Prohibits state agencies from asking about arrest charges or convictions on employment application

Justification: Requires Registrar to verify exact match with Social Security records
Justification: Allows weapons to be carried into houses of worship
