Please Join Us in “Making Democracy Work” this Giving Tuesday.
Events such as our Legislative Pre-session are open to the public and provide a place where people can hear from experts on the issues that are important to Virginia citizens and which are likely to be acted upon by the General Assembly.
We are working to expanding our voter registration efforts. In particular, we plan to implement a state-wide effort to make sure that every high school student of age to do so, is aware of the importance of her/his vote and has easy access to voter registration.
Plans are in the works now to have a televised debate for Virginia’s U.S. Senate race.We want to expand our VOTE411.org information on candidates for races across the state and to make more people aware of the resources that VOTE411.org offers for those looking for both general and personal information on registering and voting in Virginia elections.
All of these have costs related to them. Venues for meetings, printing, mail, Internet outreach, postcards, and more are crucial to our efforts to span the entire state with important information for citizens. Your donation will help us to cover those costs and continue to expand our work throughout the state of Virginia.
The League is proud to be nonpartisan, neither supporting nor opposing candidates or political parties at any level of government, but always working on vital issues of concern to members and the public.
We work to encourage informed and active participation in government and influence public policy through education and advocacy.
